Back to Work Stationery Shopping

Sooo you know how I’m a little bit addicted to all things Stationery, And I love a proper shopping spree. I actually hate online shopping
(Believe it or not.) There is nothing I love more than a snoop through the stationery isle, leafing through all the notebooks and admiring the pens and all the bits and pieces.

So obviously I need a back to work stationery haul!! And you need to hear my genius excuses for why I purchased each and every item!! I haven’t made it easy for you either… you’ve gotta hit the link (the underlined words) to see what I’m talking about!

My go to for stationery shopping is always Paperchase! It makes me feel like a kid in a sweet shop! They do free delivery when you spend £25 and ATM you can use code GOOD20 for some money off!

STABILO cool pastels highlighters because we have lots of important stuff to highlight !! We do actually always end up looking for a highlighter. And these are cute!

Buddies Pip mini clipboard Well take a look and see for yourself why this made the cut!!!

Buddies Mechanicle pens 3 pack I don’t know about you but lately I’ve been constantly loosing my ‘good’ pen! So now I have 3 …. more to add to the rest I’ve ordered.

Mix and match pink push pins how about these cuties??? We now had a notice board at work so you know, we can’t be having bog standard drawing pins in our salon! Also they’re in a multi buy so I might have to get myself a notice board too!!

Rose gold scissors I don’t know about you. But when it comes to my stationery drawer, the scissors always seem to have went walkies! So it’s always nice to have a shiny rose gold pair to catch my eyes when I’m looking for them!

Rose gold twist pens like I said earlier.. I keep loosing my good pen, and I’ve decided all my pens need thrown out and I should only have nice pens. In my pencil case. The others will go in a drawer for emergencies.

Polka A5 list book…. throughout lockdown every time I went do do something I forgot what I was supposed to be doing or buying! So now I have a list book for my day’s activities!! I can’t believe I spent so many days thinking my brain was in mush and all I needed was a list book!

Mix & Match pink paper clips they were in the multi buy with the drawing pins and I know for definite there’s been times when I’ve been standing at the desk going ‘we need some paper clips’

Lined large index cards This was actually a really good buy… we use these in the salon for recording all your colour services. And I’m pretty sure we always have to panic buy so not this time!!

Ps. How good am I? A whole Paperchase shopping spree and not one notebook….. 😉

You are not super Woman… or are you?

You Are Not SuperWoman, You are NOT super Mum.. This is a phrase I have recently had to repeat to myself. Sometimes over and over. I think as new mums we put immense pressure on ourselves to function ‘normally’ I know I did. But lately because I’ve been feeling a little overwhelmed as well as almost feeling guilty thinking about everything getting on top of me. I know we’re in lockdown and it feels like I must be the only person in the world who feels like she doesn’t have all this free time on her hands. I feel like I now have not one but two babies to look after and entertain all day.

I felt pressure to join in with the country walking the roads (not really wanting to admit I’m actually petrified of meeting people and not sure of the whole road crossing etiquette) I have started a 21 day plan that I do enjoy but it’s tough.

I also got very bored and very frustrated with the whole baking fade too. And I normally love getting the good olde Kitchenaid out for some serious baking. but since gluten free flour was 1- Super hard to find in the shops and 2- Nothing is ever simple( or nice for that matter) without adding a ridiculous amount of weird named gels and gums. NOPE not for me right now. I did attempt numberous recipes but they were just below the bar looks and taste wise.

I’ve tried umpteen hair and makeup looks that have all been a bit on the crap side of things, I’ve recorded numerous hours of substandard hairstyle footage. It’s taken me over two weeks to edit an 8 minute clip, and that’s only because half of the footage has went walkies. And i’m still not happy with it.

I put immense pressure on myself to turn up (virtually) to Baby sensory. With both Emily and myself immaculately presented. Just so I can feel slightly better about myself and take a few fun photos of Emily dressed up.

I still haven’t logged on to the open university to start the creative writing course I signed up for the very first day of lockdown!  So therefore I still haven’t started my awesome best seller book! If I get to ‘work out’ a day and manage a shower the house is in ruins. It took me until today to prime photo frames for the Salon that I had intended to do before we were even talking about lockdown. Not to mention getting started on miss Emilys room revamp. and possibly the length of time its taking me to getting around to finishing this blog!

I’ve cried because we can’t open our salon, and it feels like that possibility is getting further and further away, I miss our clients so much! I miss coffee dates with the bump buddies, I miss a drink after work with my friend, I miss real life book clubs and I miss my mum!

But you know what I have done? I’ve had so many lazy mornings just the three of us, That we will never have the chance to have ever again! I’ve got to watch Emily play and see her character grow. She’s had unlimited cuddles and fun.  I’ve started spoon feeds,  something I was dreading, and you know what I’m enjoying the time to sit down with her and take our time experimenting. We’re Spending proper time together as a family. and its felt like we are back in that newborn bubble we were in when Emily was just born. And I’m so thankful that we can be at home together safe. I don’t know how other people do it when I’m still sacred to go to the shops.

I was feeling so sorry for anyone that is pregnant right now with what they’re facing. And I was taking pity on someone I seen with a tiny baby in a pram when I realised I also had a tiny baby in a pram! And it dawned on me that us new mums are literally bringing up our babies in a pandemic! When we could do with all the support and help that we can get but we can’t get it from our friends and families right now. We’re already making it up as we go along never mind making it up and not being able to compare stories about poo and over coffee and cookies because of corona.

So even though I have a loooong list of to do’s, deep down I have a feeling that I and pretty much every other mum in similar shoes am/are supermum (you have no idea how many times my laptop has tried to change that to superman) I am superwoman… We’re all supermums and super women. Literally running our world while we’re cleaning up the kitchen. Even more so making it up as we go along. Especially in this scary world we live in! Here’s to you!

2020 diary hunt!

The hunt is on for the perfect 2020 diary

You know how much of a stationary addict I am by now, and you also know how fussy I am when it comes to choosing a diary!

I mean you have your notebook (or 4) that you carry about and chop and change every so often, but your diary is your companion that you have to stick with for a whole year!

I may have started my search a little earlier this year, but I just like to be organised and the first time I needed to put in an appointment for 2020 I knew I had to get on it! Throughout my search this year I’ve discovered a few new brands to me and Im gona share them with you guys!!

This is my year 2020 diary from just add inspiration. It’s A5, hardback and has a spiral bound! As well as spaces to jot down what you’re grateful for that day! I love the ethos behind this brand! They are even donating 10% of profits to a chosen charity. (So you’re basically donating to charity and not treating yourself 😉) The only question is now what colour should you pick?

They even have the option to add a pen to your order with an inspirational quote too! The lovely guys over at Just Add Inspiration have given me a discount code for you guys too just pop in JUDE10 before the end of November!

Boxclever Perfect year 2020 Diary:

A5, check ✅

hardback, check ✅

Looks the part, check ✅

not your average diary, check ✅

It is definitely an eye catching diary, a week to view! There’s loads of space for all your appointments and there’s even space for notes!! And a little handy pen loop! And my two favourite things about this diary… there’s STICKERS!! (The awesome people at Box Clever Press very generously gifted me one and so far I’ve been having loads of fun adding stickers to dates for birthdays, dentist appointments and special dates!) They even have loads of different stickers and accessories to purchase separately here!

My other favourite feature is the handy perforated pages for all your shopping lists! And I love a good shopping list, almost as much as I love buying stationary! So this is going to come in VERY handy!

If you like that then you’ll love the set that comes with a A diary and cover, the best way to keep your diary in tip top condition all year round and just fill it up with a great new diary next year! Win win!

There’s even a Calendar to match!

Another thing I did spot on Box clever’s Instagram the other day is the Internet password notebook. I know this will come in super handy and I’ve already earmarked it as a Christmas gift!

I hope this helps you choose your perfect 2020 diary! If you happen to stumble across your perfect diary somewhere else few free to share!

Joyful Spaces

So I have always been frustrated with the disorder in my house, mainly my dressing room. Now I’ve got my system for the drawers and the kitchen cupboards. I’ve got places for things but I mostly like everything out of sight and hidden. I’ve always been relatively happy with the way my house looks and since having mini me I’ve become frustrated with all the stuff. Almost like I’ve been suffocating in my own home. This may sound weird when I also say I love my home and how it looks… I know.

My dressing room is a multi functional room. I have a printer/makeup area/ desk for my laptop and hair stuff not to mention the actual wardrobe with my clothes, shoes and off course my babies… my handbags. It started to overwhelm me like you wouldn’t believe. I’ve watched the YouTube videos and I’ve been obsessed with TikTokers cleaning their spaces but I could never get it just right!

Well that’s where the angel that is Sharon aka Joyful Spaces comes in! In September past I had the pleasure of Sharon and her sidekick come in and help me transform my dressing room. Now I was so nervous I was basically going to be left with two pairs of shoes and a basic outfit. And I had the fear she was going to make me throw out all my lovely eyeshadow pallets. I was having visions of us fighting over a handbag beside the bin. 😂

Sharon helped me organise my space into an area that made me feel more relaxed and just smile every time I walked in. She made me evaluate what I loved and what I knew I would use again. It was amazing to see all my clothes out of the wardrobe and in plain sight. She was not forceful with the decluttering but asked me how each piece of clothing made me feel.

My makeup and hair stuff now makes perfect sense. I have organised drawers and cupboards. My shoes are ON DISPLAY! And I can open up my wardrobe doors and see clearly what I have to pick from. And you know one of the best things. I only have clothes that I truly love left! Clothes that make me feel better about myself and that I love to wear.

This has even filtered into Mini me’s bedroom where she has the most perfectly colour coordinated tops and leggings drawers you’ve ever seen. She’s even been getting in on the action with helping sort out her own drawers and put away her clothes.

Sharon is just one of the loveliest ladies you’ll ever meet. She has such a calming presence that’s puts you at ease straight away. I knew I had to have Sharon in my home after I had seen the amazing job she had done at the home of one of my friends. I highly recommend her! If you’re struggling with your clutter give Sharon a call.. or a follow on Instagram @joyfulsoaces_

All my shoes out in the open to evaluate what was staying… most of them 😂
Just look at all my lovely shoes on display when I open the door now.
I thought my shoes were organised before
I should be more embarrassed of the mess that this was.
Bringing all my clothes out to the bed before sorting through what was being kept and where they were going.

Xoxo the girl with red hair 🥰😘

A wee meal out

So it was mr Mitchell’s birthday last week, and off course no birthday is complete in our house without a wee meal out.
Jody’s pick, so off the the Sperrin restaurant (just outside Omagh) we went. Now the Sperrin has been a top choice for us over the years. Apart from a wee blip in 2019 when someone was pregnant and nothing was ever right. I vowed never to set foot again after a few unsatisfactory meals. Maybe because I was pregnant or maybe the food just wasn’t great. Well all was forgiven when Jody won two steaks on the stone in an facebook competition, and off course us being us we couldn’t turn down a free feed. Well let me tell you they redeemed themselves and more on that occasion! It was IMMENSE!

Anyway fast forward a few years and we’ve been there on more than one occasion. I find they’re child friendly. Always accommodating to my weird requests and the staff are always polite and helpful.
Last Saturday we dined there again for Jody’s birthday. All was amazing and the night was great. The place was bunged and they were all flat out. This didn’t hinder the staff or the food on any way. I know I’ve been to places and the staff are run off their feet and they start to lack interest or make mistakes.
Mini me is always treated well and the staff always take their time in listening to her when she orders. This is something I’ve been encouraging her to do when we eat out. I’ll go over the menu and help her pick a good meal choice. And I always ask her to tell the waiter what she wants. One more than a few occasions I’ve had waiters completely blank her and ask me which I get can be hard to understand when a 4 year old is excited and speaks too fast or is a bit shy and too quiet. So they get a big star for effort where that’s concerned. I almost real life beamed with pride when a gentleman waiter told Emily how well she always behaves. (This was right before she found her confidence and started doing laps of the place🙈).

She also took it upon herself to tell said waiter that it was her daddy’s birthday too. So we even got a special surprise with our desserts.
I had one of the specials for starter, the supreme of chicken and then pavalova.
10/10 for taste, presentation and service 👌🏻👌🏻

FYI mini me has also requested we go there for her birthday… after Aladdin’s kingdom obviously!

It’s all a load of ********.

‘Help Reduce your carbon footprint’ This was the tag line of an advert I seen recently advertising quorn. And the actor was dressed up as a farmer. Clearly implying yet again that meat is the cause for global warming and our ever increasing carbon footprint. And it actually angered me so much, I know that there’s so much evidence to show that meat farming is not the adding contributor to the carbon footprint but so many others are so badly mis informed. Then when I later seen another ad that was advertising this cleaning detergent was now using Plant based cleaning agents, and yet again mentioned the carbon footprint..

Now if you want to be a vegan or vegetarian thats a ok with me. but I do not want to be continually bombarded with information telling me that just because I eat meat I’m somehow responsible for ruining the world. While I’m on the subject of vegan and plant based diets, it absolutely infuriates me when I’m in a shop looking for my celiac friendly food and I’m shown the vegan section. 1st it’s not my choice to be celiac … I COULD DIE! the same goes for when I’m in a restaurant (remember those) it angers me so much when you ask for celiac menu and they either roll their eyes or hand you vegan. Being a vegetarian or vegan IS A CHOICE!!! I have no choice over my condition. and it’s not just a phase. it also confuses me so much that you would choose not to eat meat but continue to eat meat substitutes….

anyway back to this carbon footprint bull shit (sorry mum)….

Did you know that 2 small avocado’s in a packet has a CO2 footprint of 846.36 grams (almost twice the amount of a kilo of bananas).

I find it so funny when I was doing my (all be it limited) research for this the top 5 ways to reduce your carbon footprint actually very rarely mention what we eat!

  • Refuse
  • Reduce
  • Reuse
  • Rot
  • Recycle
So by Refusing single use plastics, now ive seen copious influencers going out and buying bue just to pour my bottled water into to pretend im saving the earth. this is not refusing this is making stuff look nice, totallyy get that but guys don’t pretend its for the eart

So by Refusing single use plastics, now I’ve seen copious influencers going out and buying butt loads of plastic and glass containers and jars… to then see them taking what they already had and adding it to these jars, now to me I don’t see the point of buying an additional jar to decant my cereal into when the box I already have is doing the job of holding and keeping my cereal fresh just fine… same goes for pasta and I totally don’t see the point in buying a glass bottle just to pour my bottled water into, just to pretend I’m saving the earth. This is not refusing this is not helping the earth,I totallyy get that but guys don’t pretend its for the earth. It’s for your aesthetics!

One article did touch on refusing the car and opting for a bike or walk instead.

Reducing what we purchase, so as to not have excess waste. (makes sense) might also save you some doe. This also stretches from food and everyday waste to your home decor and ‘fast fashion’ as everyones shouting about too. also brings me to the other thing that popped up quite a bit.

Reusing, up cycling items or packaging that are in perfectly good shape. ie. your ‘healthy meal’ containers, jam jars and candle jars. I don’t think going out and buying 5 tins of paint, and vinyl, and new legs, and new doors, and new shelves for your perfectly fine display unit counts completely but take it if you wish.

Rot… compost heaps and all that jazz.

Recycle, well this is a given…

Still doing a. bit of searching about but its mostly these top 5 tips I see. So can someone please explain to me why we are constantly been scare-mongered on tv, Facebook and basically any social media app that you even dare open? I’m also seeing big companies all over the place saying they’re ‘taking steps’ to reduce the carbon footprint (but yet send me one item bubbled and wrapped up like it’s about to face the artic) ….honey so am I. I totally re-purposed a candle jar last week instead of buying a completely identically shaped one to put my pens in. I also like to save up cardboard to give to my nephew, because someone told me once he liked to make things out of boxes. Now he might get said cardboard and fire it straight it the bin, but I’M still taking steps. So when someone tells you they’re taking steps just don’t take it at face value, for all you know they might have just bought a new bin for paper and card…..

I know I’m mostly just on a bit of a rant here but I’ve just seen too much mis information about, and as someone who grew up on a farm, it really annoys me when I’m constantly being shown imagery and articles depicting farmers as big meanies, who don’t care for their animals. (Don’t even get me started on those peta monsters.) I wasn’t necessarily a fan of the farm life but it was clear the amount of work and dedication that goes into it, you really have to love it (and the animals) to do it. And all those people up in arms and telling us all about plant based this and that… delve a little deeper, look a little further into how your free range avocado was fertilised, was it with manure from the neighbouring farm? How was your lentils transported from the field to the shop? is that chocolate REALLY vegan? I bet your wine is not!!

That’s all my ranting and raving for now, thanks for reading this far. and as always I would LOVE to hear your thoughts

Dorothy Perkins June Picks

Hello and welcome to my Dorothy Perkins June top picks. My favourite picks and rundown of outfits. This month I’ve been thinking bright and beautiful to get me feeling all summery and also I’ve been checking out some ‘work wear’ for getting back into the salon.

First up is this beautiful frill midi wrap dress. It ticks a lot of boxes for me. The neckline is perfect, with a lovely girly frill and pattern. The wrap!! Feels like it could hide all my lumps and bumps. The length, we are going to see lots of midi dresses this summer. and I can just picture myself in this number at the next socially distanced bbq I’m at, even if its only in my back yard!!

Obviously you need the shoes to match! So obviously these Yellow ‘Rumba’ Flatform Wedge Sandals had to go into my basket too.

I fell in Love with this Animal Print Mini Skater Dress, paired with the funky Lola Skye Boots and I know it was in my last ‘best bits blog’ but I just love the Pom Trim Clutch Bag, and I don’t think it’s fully complete unless you add a cool hat into the mix.

Everyone going for Jeans and a nice top… I’ve got you covered with not one but three ‘nice tops’ to get you through the rest of the summer season:

1- The Ivory Broderie Shell Top I Just love the detail and the simplicity of this top!

2- The Blush Sequin Trim t-shirt, I love it when a simple T-shirt has that little bit of bling.

3- well I couldn’t not pick something Khaki, I love the shape of this Khaki Tiered Top.

We’ve been thinking Grey for when we can FINALLY get our buts back into the salon, so this pair of Pink & Red Check Ankle graziers caught my eye, along with this cute little Ivory Tie Shoulder Camisole Top. It was really hard to find non ankle grazer trousers but I did manage to find this pair or Grey Fob Trim Slim Trousers and I love the sleeves of this Black Floral Print Organza Puff Sleeve top. Obviously now I need shoes!! as much as I know a nice court shoe would be ideal with either of the outfits I’ve picked, they’re just not practical so I picked this pair of Black Espadrille sandals and this pair of Loafers, but I wish I could be like a boss babe (even though they’re under £15) and wear these ‘Dele’ Court shoes all day in work. but its practicality over prettiness for me for the foreseeable.

One last one: Isn’t this Grey Dogtooth Shift Dress just the cutest??

I hope you enjoyed my round up of my new faves from Dorothy Perkins. What are your staples for this summers wardrobe?

*I have not been paid for this blog, although it does contain affiliate links. But all my opinions are my own.

Why Norwex 2.0

If you know me you know I love all things Norwex (I have blogged about it before) as well as having a party or two before I also regulary have them on my social media. Well the other day I was about to place an order with my consultant when I got a txt from her all about her online parties. well that’s just perfect I thought.

1- I’ll get my washing powder.

2- I’ll not have to leave the house.

3- I’ll not even have to clean it.

4- I’ll not have to make you all tea and coffee (I really don’t mind that part) and watch you pop your cups willy nilly all over the place without using a coaster!

5- I will most definitely be in my Pyjamas, and if you’re coming you should be too!!

Anyway I was just going to share the blog from October 2019 (you can read it here…..) but I was re reading it and there was so much more I wanted to say. Because not only am I still using all my cloths, I’ve fallen in love with some new favourites and I’m only now just thinking about needing washing powder!

Here is the link to the catalogue if you just want to skip through all this waffle and look at the prices!! But read on if you’re interested in more of my opinions and my new favourites! I still love the Basic Package with the Enviro Cloth and Window Cloth

1- In my last blog I told you all I was going to order the washing powder (if you’re searching it it’s actually called Laundry Detergent), well I did. and I fully intended on keeping it until Emily was born. well I just couldn’t resist! I started to use it in October 2019 it is now June 2020! So One 1KG bag of Norwex Laundry Detergent is still going strong! at £23.99 divided by 7 months (starting in November) that’s really cost me less than £3.43 per month but realistically probably much less because there’s loads left, I just panic when I see things are going to need ordered soon and I HATE the thought of running out (do you know how many spare coffees I have in the house)

2- I also told you I was ordering the Baby Body Packs I’ve got two packs (plus some extras that were won at Leanne’s parties) and I use them everywhere! In my nappy bag, at the changing station, in the bath and at the high chair. Emily has even started grabbing them to chew on for her wee gums, and I don’t mind because I know its not a dirty cloth. I know they’re safe for her to do that with. Obviously if we use one for nappy changes its straight into a wash bag, but if we’re using one at feeding time I just give it a good wash and hang it up to dry for tomorrow.

Emily cleaning up after eating 👍🏼👍🏼

3- I was very lucky to receive the Baby Hooded Towel Set as a baby present! and its just amazing. It’s the first Towel I go to grab when its bath time it’s just so cuddly and soft, what makes it so much better is the amount of uses I get out of it before it needs washed! I’ve just noticed that they’ve changed it it grey…. so maybe I need that one now too! 😉

4- The magic Cleaning Paste, basically if your in need of something extra along with your Norwex cloths, this is it! It’s my go to oven cleaner, and believe me when I say there’s no smell and it takes two ticks along with the All-Purpose Kitchen Cloth and the window cloth to have my oven sparkling and gleaming at you! It’s also amazing at bringing old trainers back to life!

5- The Bottle Brush was another great buy! I love it for Emily’s bottles, literally cleaned in seconds and I’m not worrying about leaving any fairy liquid or anything on them before they go into the steriliser. I might pop another Enviro Sleeve onto my list, just because sometimes I’m in a panic to get the one that came with the brush into the washing machine and out and dried before I need it again. There are other Bottle Brush accessories to go with it that I might look into too.

Whats on my list this time? Well apart from the Laundry detergent, and i’ll probably purchase another baby packs. I really really want the mop. My steam mop died a death at the start of lock down and every time I mop my floor I just think how much easier it would be if I had the magic Norwex mop! It’s streaky, it takes way too long to sort out the mop and bucket (I still have one for the ‘dogs room’ and one for the ‘house’) It never dries quick enough, and I hate using floor cleaner now! Obviously I want the sexy Rose Gold one!! I know at £89.99 its a bit eye watering, but believe me when I tell you, anyone that has one does not have a bad word to say about it! And not one of them would tell you it wasn’t worth the money! Leanne does a much better job at explaining all its magic powers, but now more so than ever I don’t want to be using silly or nasty chemicals in my house, not to mention my floors. O did I not tell you? literally all you need to use with it is WATER!!! MAGIC!

I hope you enjoyed reading all about my Norwex obsession, click on the underlined text to bring you to the mentioned product! I’d love it if you could join me at the Facebook live to find out more from the expert herself. Just let me know and ill pop you on the party ‘guest list’

What’s in our baby bag?!

Our ‘penguin’ baby bag

Firstly we have our baby bag or nappy bag or whatever you like to call it, we have two…you know because one is never enough!! The ‘main’ one is one of the pink lining ‘yummy mummy’ ones. And the main reason I wanted it was because it had penguins on it! that being said it is brilliant.and does everything I need it to do, which at the minute is sit nicely in the corner until it’s needed again. I think we bought it from amazon in the end because it was an older style. but I seen it way before I got pregnant on kiddie corners instagram page so I’m pretty sure they still stock the brand. the other one is a Cybex one, Jody picked it up in the mother care sale and it perfectly matches both my car (obviously) and his car seat.

Changing mat: Thankfully both bags come with a changing mat. So they come everywhere with us. because I’ve always found public baby facilities to be absolutely DISCUSTING. Basically the whole place gets a good cleaning before poor Emily can even get out of her pram or my arms. So as well as my trustee Norwex cloth I always make sure I have some Milton Anti-Bacterial wipes. I have been known to add barbiside into packets of baby wipes when I can’t get my hands on these. And I’ve also noticed this Milton spray that’s been added to my shopping bag!

Norwex Baby Cloths: These. are. a. lifesaver! and I mean that. I Love them so much. Basically I use them as re-useable baby wipes/ face clothes/counter and chair cleaners… pretty much anything! I ordered a few packs of these before Emily came along, because I was worried about using wipes because my own skin is so sensitive and I was scared of baby being the same. I still use cotton wool pads at home in the changing station. But out and about these are dead handy along with the Wipe pouch that I also have some mini enviro cloths in it too. I will pop it from the baby bag to my own hand bag.

All the lotions and potions: Sudocreme stays at home in the baby changer while the Care and Protect tube comes with me, its just a nicer and easier consistency to work with and my mum requested it after using it a few times so it must be good. Vaseline obviously this hero product comes everywhere with me! big one at home (one in every room) and little one in the bag. not just for her bum but any scratch or cut gets this and I find it heals up quicker. Bepanthen and Metanium everyday cream. Thankfully we haven’t had any bother with nappy rashes but I have been using the every day cream.

Baby wipes: either the Boots own brand biodegradable fragrance free or the Johnson’s Skin Protect because I very rarely actually use wipes I find they hold the moisture well. so I have no fear of they drying up on me. literally depends which I see first when I’m shopping. I still make sure I have Cotton pads at the ready just incase.

Nappies and Nappy bags: Pampers size 3 at the moment, now believe me, we have experimented and trialed every type of nappy out there. but we always end up going back to Pampers. although saying that I did like the Sainsbury’s but because we live 20-30 miles from the nearest one and online deliveries have been a nightmare any time I’ve checked we’ve been sticking to boots online or in store for nappies. I do also love the Pampers Pure they are that little bit more expensive and biodegradable but I will definitely reach for these when my usual nappy is out of stock or they have a good offer on. Nappy bags are usually Boots own brand or I have been known to use doggie bags that come in a roll because they take up so little room and are a little sturdier..

Baby milk in a dispenser: we use Aptamil Formula one and I try to have enough powder for the bottles we will need when we are out and about plus one extra just incase (it has happened me before where we didn’t run out, but while making a bottle at baby massage and it was my ‘just incase she needs it bottle’ well she kicked the bottle over and I lost powder and water. Very embarrassing!!) I also always have like to have a little Ready Made up bottle in the side of my bag too.

Baby bottle: for the milk obviously, I like the Mam range and we’ve stuck to the MAM Dummies even though I swore ‘No Dummies’ before she was born. I came across the MAM range through the boots Parenting Club where I got an Itty bitty bottle free, and read up all about them, and loved their concept and simplicity. Theres always a box of two sterilised dummies well.

Bibs and Muslin cloths: I have had a big selection of bibs and so far my favourites are Dunnes, plain and simple. I Love the next muslins because they’re a nice size.

A bag with a spare change of clothes: or two depending what the days plan are. and a babygro. And a separate bag for damp or wet clothes. Luckily the penguin bag came with a pretty cool ‘wet’ bag and I have a bag I used to use for wet swimming clothes, but there’s always nappy bags if I’m stuck.

I hope this is of some use to somebody. feel free to let me know any nappy bag hacks or lifesaver baby products you have!!

Spa on the Sofa

We’re in Lockdown right now (obviously) and I have vowed to come out of this situation better looking than I went in.

I’ve been chilling on the sofa for  more than a few nights so I decided to make the living room my personal spa. And by using the resources I have already got at home. It’s a super easy way to chill out at home! I also recommend trying to get your hubby or family involved too!

Firstly I wash my hair with my current favourite shampoo Keep Me Vivid (It does change a lot) and then give it a good towel dry. Then I comb through some Hydrasource Conditioning treatment. And I clip my hair up out of the way, or you could use a cool hair wrap like this one!! Hair is wrapped up getting rehydrated and I’m going to make sure it has plenty of time to get conditioned while I continue my essential maintenance.

I’ve the hair half sorted, now it’s time to pop on my lovely Cuddly Dressing Gown  (now in the sale) and get everything else prepped.

Mask Time: I’m not really a fan of sheet masks but I did see a video of someone using a Jade Roller over the top of her face mask, I know I have a few sheet masks sitting on my bathroom shelf and a roller in my drawer that never gets used! So I’m trying that! Here are a few popular  Sheet masks from Beauty Bay. Or you can check out this facebook group “Treat Yourself” full of body shop beauties or Click here to take you to the body shop website.

Feet: So I don’t have a fancy foot spa (yet) I use a good old kitchen basin! I make sure there’s loads of bubbles obviously, I generally use shower gel and I start it off with a good Foot Scrub and then soak. I’ve started popping in some essential oils into the foot bath too. Nice scrub and a good long soak, then I like to finish it all off with a nice massage using some Foot Cream, and get them toes painted.

Then it’s time to take the mask off and pop on my usual skincare and rinse out my conditioning treatment. I could say I go on to give myself a powerful blow-dry, but to be honest I usually let it dry naturally. I give it a light towel dry then, I spray some Miracle Creator Treat 20 (aka Magic spray) and use a little MATRIX style link Smooth Setter soothing Cream throughout my mid lengths and ends then I sprits some High Amplify Wonder Boost into my roots, give it a wee shake up and that’s usually my pamper time done.

I definitely don’t do a pamper night as much as I want to or should do for that matter. I usually only do one of the many steps. But when I do the full works I get the best sleep after.

I hope you guys feel inspired to switch up your nights in! Until next time

Butterfly Twists

I’ve only recently been introduced to the brand that is Butterfly Twists! In a nut shell It’s ‘where style meets comfort’ they believe in comfort as well as style and practicallity. And I don’t know if its because im a new mum, or I’m generally on my feet all day but I’m all about that.

Usually one to buy ballerina flats and either throw them away after a long day of sore feet or once they get wet and go all weird (you know what I mean). After a good clear out of shoes in my wardrobe after having Emily I realised I was left with either very unpractical stilettos, my irregular choice babies or trainers. so something needed to be done. I started looking for sensible/ comfortable and stylish shoes. That I could wear all day in the salon but also pop on along with jeans and a nice top for a bump buddies coffee date (one of the first things I’ll be doing once this lockdown is over!that’s why when I seen these Leopard Print beauties and I just fell in love.

Not to mention this bright and beautiful Yellow Pair. I just love the attention to detail across all the shoes so far.

So far I’ve been pretty impressed by the brand, and even better you can get 10% off sight wide using code MYBT2020

Happy Shopping

Until next time xoxo OfficialJudeMitch
